Round 10: American 700 Pre-Race

Ike Durbin: "Lost a cylinder during the second run. Nothing we could do there. Not sure yet what went wrong with Finguy's car or if it was just damage. Excited to see Jordan win his duel and Andrew slot in too!"

OOC: I ran the American 700 while at school, for some reason, NR2003 won't let me go to any lap prior to lap 200... From what it looks like, Perkins ROFL stomped both the test race I ran, and what would have been the actual 700. Although Syron made a nice close with Lester at the end of that race. However I need to re-run it!

Collins: "I'm gonna stay and watch the race. Me and Stella might stand next to Kenny and Nathan if Kenny isn't mad at me for any previous incidents. Watching this race should really help and show me what I can improve on for next time, same with Stella and McKane"

Stella: "Yes, I'm looking forward to watching the Amercian 700. I couldn't watch last season due to the fact that I was participating in the race, I also got 12th (or somewhere around that) which made me happy. I'm gonna be cheering on Phadkar since he is also from Lites like me and he is forein like me"

OOC: Well, the Fontana I am using has a pitting glitch... So we aren't using the one in Part 1. We are using the same one Wilhoit is using... which I was going to run anyway.

Davis: "I have a better car than last year, just help me keep it running and we should be good."
George: "Well you know who your buds are in this race"
Mark Rut (Spotter): "You have Charles right next to you. I've talked with his spotter he is willing to work with you, but you also have Tedford, Pichu, Emma, and Nova who might be willing to work with you.
Davis: "Welp just try to stay loose, and don't be to serious."

Kenny: Good luck to Charlie, we hope he can turn this bad race around.

Sean: I want to win this race, I never got to celebrate winning the Season 14 running, because of that bastard faking his death.

Kenny: Wow, 45 minutes prior to the race, they are grinding down the bump on the bottom of turn 4. Would have been nice if they repave the whole thing...

Auto Club Speedway: Kenny, after this race, the track pavement is being ripped up and completely repaved!

Tedford:"Damn this turbine. It keeps overheating. Do we have anymore water?"
Davis:"George, When are we going to show what we got. We've been put a lap down."
White:"What the heck is wrong with this thing? We have been fast all race, but we can't stay on the dang lead lap"

Mainly what I think is some of these guys that come from short track should stay their. Pathetic way to get in a wreck.

James: I am Sry guys. That Ferrari messe us up. I'm Trying not to mess with the lead laps cars. We need points, and this is not how we can get them. Cmon n Gaulighen

Collins: "Enjoyed watching the race with Myatt, McKane, and Stella. I was cheering for N. Hart the entire time but congrats to Sean. Watch out next year, I'll be coming after y'all"

Wilhoit: Did whatever the hell I can to keep out of going a lap down. That debris really made me choke this race. Now Sean really needs to catch the leader by 72 points. I am headed back to Finland now, where I am needed to race in Formula Alpha.

Sean: That was the toughest race of my entire life... The lack of cautions really made it a difficult race. The heat wasn't as bad as I thought it would be though. Glad I won my 2nd American 700, and this one I CAN ENJOY!

*Day After Race*

Interviewer: Thanks for your time Kenny...

Kenny: Thanks for having me...

Interviewer: Ok, many people are calling yesterday's race the worst American 700 ever, do you agree.

Kenny: Well, It was quite clear that the track needs repaved... which is already on the books. The temps also didn't help, because it was so hot, tire wear was increased even more. Combined with the surface, it was clear that the race was going to be about saving tires more then anything else.

Interviewer: Does that explain why there were only a few cars that seriously had a chance to win...

Kenny: The tires played a role in that. Because the pack couldn't pack up like they normally would, it was quite clear that the 18, 15, and 44 were way better then everyone else. The 18 would have won the race if it hadn't have been for the dimwit in the 71. But the draft was almost null and void because the surface made it too difficult to make a move on.

Jordan:Probably the best American 700 ever! I don't get these other drivers. For a driver it is the best. For a viewer they might not like it.

Syron: "It's been an honour racing in the American 700, starting on the pole, ending up with a top 10, I couldn't be much happier! Also, congratulations to Sean!"

Sean: WAIT ILLEGAL? How the hell was the car illegal...

Horizon Group disqualified, American 700 awarded to Gallaghan

Deep into the night the ARCSOA officials were looking over the Horizon Group cars very closely... On Sunday Morning, ARCSOA CEO Stephanie Tilton announced that the Horizon Group cars of Cooper Syron and race winner Sean Perkins were deemed to have an active suspension system. ARCSOA Race Director Todd Haley stated, "We initially became suspicious after the 55 and the 15 were getting 5 more laps on a set of tires than everyone else. I am pretty sure Syron had no clue what was going on, because he was staying out so long. Perkins was attempting to pit with everyone else. We looked at both of the cars tires as the race went on, and figured out that their tires were wearing better then everyone else's. The thing we found was quite miniscule and quite clever by the Horizon Group. So we DQ'ed them, and gave the win to the 44 car." In accordance to American 700 tradition, the winners trophy isn't given out until the day after the race. So Perkins never recieved the trophy, and they will simply just give it to Gallaghan. This is Shaun Gallaghan's first ever ARCSOA Elite Series victory. Horizon Group expects to appeal this case.




Kenny: I was wondering how Syron was staying out so long. However what they did, I didn't know was against the rules. So this one might be given back. If I were Horizon Group, I would appeal this, because there isn't anything they can lose.

Syron: "Wait, what!?"
