Oklahoma race expected to be more spread out then previous seasons

Ferrari dominated a somewhat surprising opening practice session. In which the cars weren't as packed as they normally are. Competition Director Vijay Pushanda stated, "I like the fact that the field is spread out, it looks like the track has worn down a bit. There is definitely not as much grip as there once was." The draft however hasn't been completely eliminated. In fact the draft could be more important then ever. Pushanda stated, "The draft will be all more important because there isn't a huge pack anymore. Therefore you will need to stay in the draft of the car in front of you to stay in the race. Plus I have never seen such a disparity in speeds between the leading car and the drafting car. The drafting car, can gain 5 MPH just by being in the draft. So draft is important." One of the favorites for this race will be Cooper Syron. Syron has been incredibly quick on the higher speed ovals this season. Plus in the One off qualifying last season, Syron mastered the slingshot to grab pole for the American 700 and Indianapolis 250. Expect Syron to do well!

Shultz: "Pretty good run today, I mean I've had better in my career but whatever. Right now I'm trying to get finishes like this"

Freeman: "Damn, maybe my decision to take BFM wasn't the best. Cause, it looks like the cars haven't improved very much. I was expecting a lot more, mainly cause our budget went up by 90% over the course of when we weren't racing. Really hope for a better run next race!"

I think Porsche under this new management might not be working with me right now. I might consider that Cathenix ride for next season but we'll see what happens
